I am on the plane headed back home! The last couple weeks have been like a whirlwind for me! I drove across the USA with my Mom so I could have my car back at school this fall. Don't get me wrong, I love the mini cooper and I am SO happy to have it back... it's not the most practical car. The only way I survived the three day drive was having my mom! My mom is currently serving a mission in the Dominican Republic with my Dad... she got special permission to come home for two weeks and visit all her children and newest addition to the family- Iva! I most definitely was the luckiest daughter and I got to be with my Mom the whole trip! Minus the six or so hours now until she takes her flight back to the DR. So, it started with my trip home after finals and then we drove for three days to Idaho Falls to see Anna, Shawn, Dug(the pug), and most importantly Iva! (Sorry Anna, but I don't think that is news to you.) Iva is beautiful and has a full head of hair! Who knows where that came from because it definitely is not a Shaver thing... we were all bald until we were four! We spent a good chunk of time in Idaho Falls with the Catmulls and Iversons. It was crazy to see Anna as a mom... but man, she's a good one! Anna then drove us to Utah to meet up with the Hornes. We met at Ikea... naturally it was free lunch day for kids and was PACKED. We had a great day and night and then the next day I went and got my hair done by one of my best friends and one of the few people I let touch my hair- Alysha. We went to hair school together and have done a good job staying in touch. She just had a baby boy about a month ago, her first. So I got to hold him and spend time with her which was SO fun! Then I got back to springville and had a birthday cake waiting for me. :) We had birthday cake and watched some olympics that night then that led us to today... Saying goodbye.
I HATE goodbyes. I rather just not say anything or see them. I turn into a blubbering baby. So, saying goodbye to my mom today was uh... ZERO fun. I love my parents so much and am so proud of them for serving this mission but I have never gone so long without seeing my Mom or Dad! I won't get to see my Dad until December when I head to the DR myself. It had been exactly a year since I had seen my mom and that seems like forever!
The trip was a great time for me to get to see family and spend time with all of my sisters. It's easy to get lost in my own little world. I love to see my sister's lives now and the wonderful mothers they have all grown up to be. We are all so different but we are all family and I love everyone of them. They are all an example to me. I have learned lots from each one of them!
I have sooo many pictures that I am going to spread them out the best I can throughout some posts.
Glitz and Glam!
