Peace, Love, and THE Prank War.

Remember how I told you about a little prank I played on Jordon? Yeah, we'll it has escalated since...

First this happened....
Then this....
And THEN!

Yeah, this was the day before I was about to move to Boise until September. And yeah, that is glitter ALL over my car. It was beautiful. As I drove to wash it all off I coated the roads of Rexburg with gold glitter.

The worst part? I slept with my window open and while I was sleeping they threw glitter in through my screen. Awesome. Guess that is what happens when you are a sound sleeper.

So, we are on a 7 week hiatus. But the second Jordon gets back into Rexburg... It's on. I did have the opportunity to prank him again but decided to taunt him with a note on his car instead.

Oh, how I love a good prank war.

Peace, Love, & Words of Wisdom.

My roommate Dani was truly inspired when she shared this following passage with me. I am going to print it out, frame it, and put it on my night stand!

Desiderata:

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Such wise words. So much strength to be found in them!

Peace, Love, & TENNIS

Yesterday, I broke out my tennis rackets... it's been years! It felt good to get my serve back... I spent just over an hour constantly serving. Started off pretty ugly but got much better.

This morning I woke up... SORE. So many muscles hurt. I was trying to decide what to do with my day and I really had no desire to go sit in the library all day and do homework- since it is finals week I probably should have. I instead- got on my bike and rode to the tennis courts. I spent a couple hours there this morning. It was wonderful. It was real hot though.

Since summer is just about to begin for me... (next tuesday) I figured it's time to get out and have some fun!

Peace, Love and some serious sparkles!

I used to get in prank wars all the time... I really love them. Some people know that side of me...

Well, last night I let it out again. I pulled off one of the best pranks. It's been years since I've been in the game. And well, I'd say I did a dang good job jumping back into it.

To start this story off... Jordon started it. Ha! He wrote "sick tight" everywhere in our apt. I keep telling him that word is ridiculous. It's never gonna happen- just like fetch. Ha!!!

I might have taken my prank up a few levels....

Well, I made a sign with glittery puff paint that said "peace, love, and sparkles" naturally. Then continued to put glitter everywhere! On his bed, comforter, sheets, pillow, tool box, desk, alarm clock, in his shoes, on his deodorant, in his shampoo, and on top of his door so that when they open and close it glitter falls.

Yeah, I went all out. Glitter bomb was a success. Not only did I get this snapchat last night...
But he also called me, and then texted me. I'd say it was just the reaction I was looking for. :)

I even got some texts this morning. So, I thought I would wish him a sparkly day.
Now. To wait.

Peace, Love, & Grandpa Gilmore

I am officially done with work for the semester. Well, minus my Monday meeting. It have been such a great semester for me. I have been able to work with some incredibly talented people. It's been nice to see hard work pay off! Last night was the final concert. We had our annual Patriots and Pioneers concert featuring Edward Herrmann. Edward Herrmann has been in so many different shows, movies and concerts. He has worked with Goldie Hawn who is one of my idols! Not only is he talented he is so intelligent. He told me so many stories about movies he has worked on and random facts about whatever was around us.

There was a rehearsal Friday night so I had to pick him up from the hotel and then be there all night for whatever needs he may have. Then give him a ride back to the hotel after. I took all my homework and sat in the green room and tried to get everything done.

He was awesome and a great end to my semester. :)

Peace, Love, & Happy Days!

If we focus on the bad well, we will be pretty miserable. For the last few weeks it’s been my goal to find the good and to strive for the best in each day. I have been able to do just that.

I hate when people say “I am so happy” like they need to prove it to the people around them. So, this isn’t going to be one of those posts. But I have just been having some really good times lately! I have been going out, making new friends, and trying to have more adventures. I think a big part of my joy is the SUNSHINE. It’s impossible for me to be mad when the sun is shining down on me and reminding me that Heavenly Father loves me.

I went home to see my parents this weekend. I had a blast! The 5 hour drive was just what I needed. I love being in the car alone, blaring my music and belting it out alone, and then if need be- having complete and utter silence.

I am watching Anna’s dog- Dug- for the weekend so I took him to Boise with me and I return him today! ☹ It’s been a blast to have him. I just love dogs and taking him on walks, letting him sleep with me, and then having an awesome little shadow for 5 days!

I have been blessed with some awesome people in my life who keep me focused on the goals and not on the speed bumps! I hope everyone has at least one of those people in their lives.

As hard as this is for me to admit- I am happy to be where I am. I am enjoying all that I can at this time in my life. It will only be like this for a couple years then it’s a whole new ball game.

Be happy. Let go of anything and EVERYTHING that is stopping you from being happy.

Peace, Love, & the 4th of July!

I recruited some friends to help me with being in the Rexburg Parade. Last year I was also in the Parade to represent BYU-Idaho and advertise for our show next weekend- Patriots and Pioneers. We carry a 30x20ft flag and a big banner for the concert then we had people handing out flyers to the crowd. We had about 40 people there to help and it went really well! We had fun! Even went to lunch after! :)

Peace, Love, & A Trip Down Memory Lane

More like several trips down memory lane!

First, a flashback to 2008 spring break. I went with Shannon, one of my friends from Boise and then we met up with a big group from Utah State. Which my sister in law had planned the whole thing. Random. And when I say sister in law I mean Jessica is my brother in law's little sister. So I don't know exactly what to call her! ha! But it was one of the coolest vacay's I've ever gone on. Even getting to be in a recording of The Price is Right! Well, the only reason this camping trip this weekend brought back those memories was because most of the people I went camping with go to Utah State and live in Logan.

Second, a flashback to my Utah days. Being with my best friend Jamie made me seriously miss the days of seeing her all the time! It's weird to think that it has been two years since I left Utah! But, she is still my rock! This weekend was just what I needed! She always knows how to make me laugh. Maybe even too much. HA!

Third, a flashback to my childhood and camping with my family and the Salisbury's! I haven't really camped since I moved out which was 6 years ago! WOAH! Sometimes I forget how fun those days were. Wake up, eat, go boating, swim, eat, boat, swim, layout, eat, sleep, & REPEAT for the next week. Those were the days! I love camping and was lucky enough that my Dad loves it too. He also has all the things in the world you could need for camping. I realized this weekend that I do not. ha!

Well, now that I have had all these flashbacks I can move on with the present day! ;)
This weekend Jamie invited me to go camping at Bear Lake with her little sisters and their friends. It was a blast!!! I love the lake so, it is no problem for me to be on the lake all day and cooking s'mores at night! It was a great break from school and work! Carefree times are always the best!

One of the guys brought his sail boat! That was pretty cool to see! Yeah, I'd say it was the best weekend in a long time! :)
